The fabric of a Wall Tapestry.  How Jacquard Weaving works.

The manufacture of a wall tapestry can be analyzed in four stages. In order to guarantee a high quality product, each step must be followed exactly. One mistake can jeopardize the final result of the wall tapestry. These are the four stages of the manufacture of the Jacquard tapestries.

1. Creation : The first work is the creation of the wall tapestry. This work consists in the "mise en carte" the detailed drawing of the motif. Indeed, working from a medieval or contemporary design, the creator has to transcribe the colors and contours for the jacquard weaving.

2. Warping: Production on the wall tapestry starts in the warping workshop. It is the jacquard weaving preparation. Thousands of dyed threads are winded on enormous reels (called rollers). These threads will form the warp of the wall tapestry.

3. Weaving: The wall tapestry is the result of the intersection (or interlacing) of two kinds of threads, warp and weft.  The warp and the weft will interlace each other (jacquard weaving), and the wall tapestry will take life.

4. Finition: Every wall tapestry is finished according to the purchaser's requirements. The jacquard weaving will hold up to the test of time.  Each wall tapestry is finished, ready to be hung on your wall.
